2007 to 2020
It's 2007, the economy is terrible, I'm upside down on my 99 Civic Si and I make 11 dollars an hour. So I buy a $22,000 car with a 200 dollar down payment. I plan on keeping the car 100% STOCK.
After owning and loving every minute of driving the s2k, I decided an exhaust would be cool. It's all down hill from here.
2009 and I have my first turbo setup. It's a little 60 trim turbo with a log manifold. This is where we learned the hard lesson of listening to people who know more. The stock engine ends up dropping a trust washer and frying all the piston rings two years later.
It's 2010 and I have good news and bad news. I was lucky enough to meet Bob aka Robert Reece, the owner of RCautoworks. He makes a bad ass turbo setup with a 6262SP turbo. The bad news, the motor I had built is bad and it will last 15 minutes on the dyno.
2014 everything is at iLL Garage. They will install the head on the Inline Pro short block, put the motor in and tune on the RCautoworks turbo setup that will make 420 horse.
2016 with a 6262sp turbo, transmission that's on its way out with the stock differential. I'm currently talking to a few people about cd009 swapping or T56 swaps. Nobody makes a kit yet.
I will have more details about the T56 swap after I get in touch with a few people to confirm information.
I have to thank my friend Charles, the owner of CJmotorsports for doing the work on the swap. He wanted my car. So he could make a fuel system for the s2000 and I needed the swap done before spring and he knocked it all out.
The CJmotorsports dual pump hanger and fuel rail.
My 6262 is toast and a local shop Top Notch owner and fab guy happen to be awesome fabricators. That's a good enough excuse to have a whole new turbo setup made.
The car makes 730 on the dyno and we turn up the boost a few more times putting it somewhere in the 800s
I'm running fast enough times and trapping high enough speeds for an 8.50 cage. Slowing down is never an option so Owen at Top Notch gets to work.
2019 and I was only able to make it to the track once and make a few passes just to make sure everything was holding up, put it back on the trailer and head home.
